Houston checks air quality from Texas petrochemical fire, smoke seen miles away

Houston officials and environmental groups raced to expand air monitoring on Tuesday after a raging fire at a Mitsui & Co petrochemical storage site produced billowing acrid smoke that could be seen and smelled miles away.

Smoke Seen For Miles From Deer Park, Texas Petrochemical Fire
According to a report by Reuters, on Tuesday, Houston officials and environmental groups raced to expand air monitoring after a raging fire at a Mitsui & Co petrochemical storage site produced billowing acrid smoke that could be seen and smelled from miles away. The massive fire at Mistui unit Intercontinental Terminals in Deer Park, Texas burned for a third day after firefighting water pumps broke down for six hours on Monday evening.
