Sixteen year-old Swedish student and activist Greta Thunberg warned on Thursday (February 21) that politicians would be "remembered as the greatest villains of all time" if they did not seek to tackle environmental issues.

Thunberg initiated the global 'School Strike 4 Climate' movement in August 2018 by protesting outside her parliament on school days.

Also attending the EU conference, EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said he welcomed the series of protest, noting he himself took part in demonstrations, though 'outside of school hours', when he was a teenager.
