(SOUNDBITE) (German) BAYERN MUNICH MANAGER NIKO KOVAC, SAYING: "Especially after the 2-1 score you saw this team's qualities.

The fact that we didn't achieve what I had in mind surely was also our fault but above all it's due to Liverpool who boxed us in, attacked early and we were not able to break free.

That's why we didn't make it.

So we didn't deserve to win." STORY: Bayern Munich coach Niko Kovac admitted to reporters that his side didn't deserve to progress in the Champions League following their poor performance against Liverpool on Wednesday (March 13).

Liverpool won the game 3-1 to comfortably clinch a spot in the quarter-finals after a goalless draw at Anfield in the first leg.

Kovac said their opponents had played aggressively, attacking early and closing down Bayern's game.
