Sea of Anti-Brexit Protesters Holds Banner Mocking David Davis 'Democracy' Tweet Aloft

Hundreds of thousands of people filled the streets of London on Saturday, March 23, a week before the country was scheduled to leave the European Union, to call for a second referendum, or “people’s vote”, on Brexit.“I’ll be marching on Saturday with people from all parts of our country to demand the British public get a final say,” London Mayor Sadiq Khan said in a video message posted to Twitter ahead of the march.Event organizers People’s Vote UK tweeted that over 1 million people had attended the march. The crowdfunded anti-Brexit organisation Led by Donkeys organised and shared footage of a large banner carried by a sea of protesters in Parliament Square, which mocked Conservative MP David Davis by referencing a statement he made in 2012 regarding the UK’s relationship with the EU, according to The Independent.“If a democracy cannot change its mind, it ceases to be a democracy,” the banner read.Led by Donkeys mocked Nigel Farage’s concurrent March to Leave, which, in a video they posted, appeared to have a very small turnout.
