Star of Netflix series "Stranger Things" and UNICEF ambassador Millie Bobby Brown is backing a UEFA campaign to inspire more young women to play soccer.

The two-time Emmy-nominated actor is seen surprising young female athletes at London's Wembley Stadium and kicking a ball around in a promotional video for the "Together #WePlayStrong" campaign.

The actor is joined on her first day by professional soccer player Laura Feiersinger and freestyle world champion Liv Cooke in the video.

Brown, who says that she has "no soccer skills", is an avid Liverpool FC fan and grew up in a soccer-loving British family, according to the campaign press release.

The new UEFA ambassador was also appointed the United Nations children's agency UNICEF's youngest-ever envoy at age 14 in November last year, with a message for world leaders: "Listen to us." Brown said she wanted to "raise issues about education and violence and ending bullying." The actor, who plays a girl with special powers who tries to help rescue a missing boy in "Stranger Things", has spoken out in the past against bullying and in 2017 deleted her Twitter account after a slew of hate-filled comments.

UEFA's "Together #WePlayStrong" campaign aims to "make football (soccer) more culturally relevant and aspirational for girls in their teenage years, where they traditionally drop out in large numbers", according to the press release.

It plans to increase the visibility and engagement of the game at a grassroots level.

UEFA has also launched a "#WePlayStrong" YouTube channel of content featuring inspirational video of professional female soccer players.
