Closs will be spared the trauma of testifying against her captor.xxx (patterson) (sniffs) "guilty."
That was jake patterson pleading guilty in a wisconsin courtroom wednesday to kidnapping 13á yearáold jayme closs and killing her parents last october after breaking into their home.
Following his plea, elizabeth smartáá who was kidnapped in 2002 and escaped 9 months later said in a statement quoteáá "i am grateful that she and her family will be able to avoid the challenges and distractions surrounding the legal process... and can dedicate their time and attention to continuing to heal."
The closs family left the arraignment without commenting.
Patterson is scheduled to be sentenced on may 24áth áá he will likely face life in prison.
Wisconsin does not have the death penalty.///
