UK Lawmakers Will Once Again Vote on Other Brexit Options

After British Prime Minister Theresa May's Brexit deal was  rejected by Parliament for the third time , lawmakers will once again try to come up with a different plan.

On Monday, Parliament is scheduled to hold a second round of votes on alternatives to May's divorce plan from the European Union.

Lawmakers will debate multiple options, including a no-deal exit, a customs union with the EU and a second referendum on Brexit.

But none of the Brexit alternatives have a majority in the House of Commons yet.

And the European Commission's president said Sunday the EU's patience is wearing thin.

The U.K. was originally scheduled to leave the bloc March 29.

The EU said in a statement last week that a no-deal Brexit on April 12 is "now a likely scenario." European Council President Donald Tusk has called for an emergency summit on April 10.
