UK's Farage: customs union deal would be 'final betrayal'

ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Nigel Farage, leader of the UK's Brexit Party, has said a Brexit deal between the UK's two main parties - involving a temporary customs union - would be the "final betrayal." British Prime Minister Theresa May has stepped up calls to agree a cross-party deal with Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, after both parties suffered poor results in local elections on Thursday (May 2.) The Sunday Times reported that the Conservatives are prepared to offer new concessions when talks restart on Tuesday (May 7), including a temporary customs union.

But Farage, whose newly-formed party will be standing in European Parliament elections scheduled for later this month, said that would be seen as a "coalition of politicians against the people."
