2019 HS State Golf Tournament
2019 HS State Golf Tournament
Tournament started with over 4000 competitors..
After the sectional and regional tournaments wrapped up..
We were left with a 100 remaining golfers.
So we head to prairie view golf course..
Beginning with castle's adam bratton.
He starts his day two strokes off the lead.
On the 13th hole he has an opportunity for eagle... it slides just by the hole.
But he settles for birdie.
The georgia tech commit playing steady... on the very next hole... bratton with a beautiful chip that lands just shy of the hole.
He winds up with par.
The junior cards a 73.
Bratton is your top area finisher... he finishes tied for 4th in the tournament.
Going into the tournament obviously my goal is to win, it's always my goal.
But tied for 4th i'm not going to complain about it just having three years with the guys on the team has been really special and something that i'm really going to cherish a lot and i'm going to miss it as for the rest of the knights..
They stormed right into prairie view.
Walker beck grabs himself a par on the 15th hole..
Carding a 78..
And ben heppner coming in at the 3 spot for castle..
The knights finish in a tie for 5th..
Shooting a combined 630 at state.
Our other team competing was the north huskies leading the team is stewie hobgood.
The husky senior came into the day tied for 15th.
And he made up some ground.
On the 13th hobgood in the rough with a nice save out onto the green.
He would grab par on the hole.
Shortly after on the 15th... hobgood playing well and snags himself another par.
The senior cards a 72 on the final day of the tournament.
I went out on a good note, to come out here and shoot 3 over for three day, i'll take that.
It's a weird feeling it kind of hit me right after i finished on number 9 that it was finally over but we lose me and we lose our 5 so we have the core of our team they'll come out here, they'll perform next year i have in them, i'll be up here to watch them.
The huskies as a team came into today in 13th place.
And north was determined to climb the leaderboard.
Mitchell johnson has a great chip on 14..
Setting himself up to seal the hole with a nice par putt.
And north finishes 11th overall.
Memorial had a pair of individuals on the big stage as well.
Ben hoagland fighting out of the rough..
The junior with a beauty as it slowly rolls on toward the hole..
The tiger setting himself up for a nice par putt..
And he played steady on both days.
Here hoagland makes a nice read on 18..
The par putt puts him at 2 over on the day..
Hoagland finishing in a tie for 12th place.
It was a struggle, i didn't have my a game either day so to post respectable scores is definitely something that i'm glad about and just hopefully if i keep getting better like i'm planning on doing, we'll make a run next season.
Also competing for the tigers is justin drake.
Who is making some nice shots today.
He has a long way to go on 15..
And his chip keeps..
That allows him to save par..
Drake finishes his senior season in a tie for 40th.
