(SOUNDBITE) (English) TWO-TIME WIMBLEDON SINGLES CHAMPION, RAFAEL NADAL, SAYING: "I really come here to play tennis.

For me the goal the same always, it doesn't matter if I am second or third (seed).

But of course (it) can create an impact at the rankings at the end of the year.

For example for Sascha (Zverev), for Dominic (Thiem).

It is not only about grass.

The season is not only on grass.

All the players work so hard to be where they are, they arrive here, they see a possibility to be in a tougher draw because of that.

Talking about if it is fair or not, I respect the Wimbledon rules.

Another thing is if I believe that it is fair or not, that's another story.

But I really personally believe it's not, but I really respect the tournament so much.

I really respect the history of this event and I really understand that they see the sport from another perspective.

They want to do it by their own rules." STORY: Rafael Nadal is adamant that he will be ready to launch a concerted assault on a third Wimbledon title.

The Spaniard, who looked in prime form when winning a 12th French Open title three weeks ago, has sometimes found the quick transition to grass courts after his domination on French clay a troublesome one down the years.

Speaking to the media on Saturday (June 29) the 18-times Grand Slam winner wanted to brush over critical comments he made recently about the Wimbledon seeding, which has left him seeded third and facing a tricky route through to the final.

The likes of Nick Kyrgios, Denis Shapovalov, Marin Cilic and Dominic Thiem could be potential opponents even before possible clashes with the other two members of the 'big three', Roger Federer and champion Novak Djokovic.
