U.S. takes fourth Women's World Cup

The United States beat the Netherlands 2-0, but the real winner may be the women's league itself.

It's expected to clinch record viewing figures.

U.S. takes fourth Women's World Cup

In New York, the jubilation was plain to see A second goal for the USA to all but seal the 2019 Women's World Cup.

But they had to work for this one The deadlock took time to break, goalless for over an hour.

In the air... And on the ground... Only a hairs breadth separating the two sides... Everyone with a point to prove.

Passions running high for both sets of fans, then came the penalty decision.

The captain scored.

The USA one nil ahead after 61 minutes.

Anguish for the offending Stafanie van de Gragt.

A second goal followed, eight minutes later.

Some 20 minutes later, celebrations in Washington DC at the final whistle.

The USA had won the Women's World Cup for the fourth time.

But with record viewing figures around the world, perhaps the women's game itself was the biggest winner.
