STORY: Thousands of soccer fans gathered at New York's City Hall on Wednesday (July 10) to celebrate a second World Cup win for the champion USA women's squad.

The team defeated the Netherlands 2-1 in a dramatic final on Sunday in Lyon.

Stars Megan Rapinoe and Carly Lloyd spoke to the crowd after being introduced by New York City mayor Bill Deblasio and TV presenter Robin Roberts.

The crowd support included chants of "Equal Pay" in reference to the team's ongoing focus on the issue of pay desparity in the women's game.
