Oxygen Masks Hang as Air Canada Flight Diverted to Hawaii Due to Turbulence

An Air Canada flight en route to Sydney from Vancouver on July 11 was diverted to Honolulu, Hawaii, after experiencing sudden turbulence that rocked the entire cabin and left at least 35 passengers with minor injuries, CBC reported.

Flight AC33 landed in Honoluluโ€™s Daniel K.

Inouye International Airport at 6.45 am local time, according to Hawaii News Now.

Passengers described the plane suddenly dropping โ€œabout 100 feetโ€ as it hit turbulence, with people thrown upwards toward the ceiling.

Arrangements were being made for the planeโ€™s nearly 270 passengers and 15 crew, Hawaii News Now reported.

This video, taken by members of the Australian music group Hurricane Fall, shows the interior of the planeโ€™s cabin in the aftermath of the turbulence, with oxygen masks clearly visible.
