The fact that we came out on the winning side of it in particular is a bizarre last hour or so.

You know I thought we were dead and buried.

We tied somehow and a super over in a final, a World Cup final, it's incredible, and the fact that we have come out on top is, you know, pretty special." 3.

I had a bit of emotion on the field right after but for now I don't think it has sunken in as yet.

Probably when I get to the dressing room and the guys jumping around me, but for now I am just glad that I came out on the winning side." 5.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) NEW ZEALAND BATSMAN TOM LATHAM SAYING: "Very disappointing.

It would have been awesome to be lifting that trophy, but it is such a fickle game, the game we play, and you know a few moments here and there could have gone our way but unfortunately it wasn't to be." 8.

LATHAM STORY: England and New Zealand's players voiced their astonishment at the dramatic World Cup final on Sunday (July 14) that saw England tie New Zealand in the regular game and the Super Over, winning only through virtue of having more boundaries.

England had looked dead and buried as their innings was drawing to a close before some aggressive batting and freak cases of incredible luck shifted them back into contention.

England opening bowler Chris Woakes said it was the best game he'd ever played in while bowler Jofra Archer said the astonishing win had yet to sink in.

New Zealand batsman couldn't hide his disappointment with the very tight result, knowing the simplest variable would have seen them crowned champions for the first time.
