Organisers Say More Than 100,000 Participate in March Against Hong Kong Extradition Bill

Organizers said that more than 100,000 people took part in an anti-extradition bill march on July 14 in Shatin, a city north of Kowloon, Hong Kong.

Clashes between demonstrators and police were reported by local media, which said that police used pepper spray on protesters.

Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam said on July 9 that a proposed bill to allow extraditions to China was β€œdead”; however, protesters demanded that the bill be formally withdrawn.
