(SOUNDBITE) (English) ATLETICO MADRID RIGHT BACK, KIERAN TRIPPIER, SAYING: "Obviously the Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world, but when Atletico Madrid was interested I didn't think twice; for the manager, like I said, world class manager and the squad that they have.

A world class team and it was a great option for myself, my family to come and live in Madrid and experience it.

Not many British players come abroad but it is a new challenge that I'm willing to take and just enjoy.

I've always wanted to play abroad, especially in La Liga, since I was young and I've got a great opportunity now thanks to the president and everybody involved with the club and it's one that I'm going to really enjoy it and give my all." 3.

I think it is a beautiful and important challenge.

Diego (Godin) was an icon of the club and what a way to continue this story and stay on path." STORY: England right back Kieran Trippier on Thursday (July 18) said the lure of working with Diego Simeone, who he described as one of the top coaches around, was what convinced him to switch from Tottenham Hotspur to Atletico Madrid.

Trippier was unveiled as a new Atletico player on Thursday a day after completing a deal reported to be worth 20 million pounds ($25 million dollars), while Spain defender Mario Hermoso was also presented after sealing a transfer from Espanyol for 25 million euros ($28 million dollars).

Trippier will wear number 23, the same number David Beckham had when he played for Atletico's cross-town rivals Real Madrid.

The right back, who was one of the key players in England's run to the 2018 World Cup semi-finals, added that he had longed to play abroad and pledged to learn Spanish so he could quickly be on the same page as his team mates.

Atletico, who were runners-up in La Liga last season, are in a period of transition after parting with key defenders Diego Godin, Juanfran, Filipe Luis and Lucas Hernandez as well as Antoine Griezmann, their top scorer for the last five seasons.
