(SOUNDBITE) (English) MANCHESTER CITY MANAGER, PEP GUARDIOLA, SAYING: "So you are not in China, so I answer many, many times this question (on Leroy Sane's future) so I'm aware about the rumours so I know they exist so I said many times.

I want the players who want to stay because it's impossible for me as a manager, as a club to convince one player to do what you want to do while his head is away from here.

But the player didn't tell me anything and no players that we have now didn't tell me anything they want to leave so that is the only reality I have so if they knock the door and tell me they want to leave okay after I said okay we are going to speak with the clubs but nobody tell me that so that's why he's our player he's my player and we want to stay here he must stay here because we try to extend the contract from more than one year and we were quite close months ago.

Now it's a little bit different but that is the reality I cannot say anymore.

It's the same I answer in China.

So that is where it is." STORY: Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola said on Friday (August 2) that German winger Leroy Sane has not requested a transfer away from the Premier League club amid interest from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

The transfer saga has dogged Guardiola throughout City's pre-season tour in Asia and the Spaniard reiterated his stance that he wants to retain the services of the 23-year-old, whose 10 goals and 10 assists, helped the club defend their league crown.

City take on Liverpool on Sunday (August 4) in the Community Shield at Wembley Stadium in London.
