In a statement released on August 19 by Buckingham Palace, Prince Andrew said he was "appalled" by Jeffrey Epstein's alleged crimes.

His Royal Highness deplores the exploitation of any human being and the suggestion he would condone, participate in or encourage any such behavior is abhorrent.

Prince Andrew has been facing increased scrutiny in the wake of Jeffrey Epstein's suicide, as accusations about their relationship have reemerged.

He is known for his longtime friendship with Epstein, even after Epstein pleaded guilty to crimes involving a minor in 2008.

Although he has consistently denied all accusations of involvement, recent video footage published by the 'Daily Mail' show Prince Andrew leaving Epstein's home in 2010.

New unsealed court documents have also revealed past allegations against the prince.

With a woman claiming to have been paid by Epstein to have sexual encounters with Prince Andrew when she was only 17 years old.
