Baby cradled in New Zealand parliament

Credit: NZ Parliament TV Speaker Trevor Mallard of New Zealand's parliament is spotted cradling a baby during a speech in the chamber.

Six-week-old Tūtānekai Smith-Coffey was brought in on MP Tāmati Coffey's first day back from paternity leave.

Mr Coffey’s son was born via a surrogate to him and his partner Tim Smith in July.

New Zealand’s prime minister Jacinda Ardern made history last year by becoming the first female world leader to bring her baby to the United Nations general assembly.
