A victim in monday's shooting at a southeast kansas grocery store is now listed in fair condition.

The shooting happened at g-and-w foods in cherryvale.

Authorities say a store employee -- 28-year-old jamal brown of independence kansas -- shot a co-worker -- then shot and killed himself.

The surviving victim -- a 39-year-old man from independence -- has undergone surgery at a joplin hospital.

Authorities have not yet released his name.

Authorities in california have captured a suspect in a southeast kansas murder case.

The suspect is ty bohlander -- wanted in the murder of 64-year-old james mcfarland of tulsa.

The victim's body was discovered alongside a rural road near baxter springs in april 20-17.

Authorities believe the victim had been involved in a romantic relationship with ty bohlander's mother -- diane bohlander.

She's also a suspect in the murder -- but has not been found.
