Wish You Were Here? Tourists Can Now Visit Chernobyl Control Room

In 1986, the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant' Reactor 4 exploded and melted down.

It turned Chernobyl and the neighboring town into the epicenter of a 1,000-square-mile exclusion zone.

Now, Gizmodo reports the β€œhighly radioactive” control room at Reactor 4 is open for tourists.

That is, so long as they wear a protective suit, helmet, and gloves while inside.

Radiation in the room is some 40,000 times higher than normal.
