How Investors Should Approach Volatility Around U.S.-China Trade Talks

How're the markets looking?

The U.S. and China are meeting to discuss the U.S.-China trade war and President Trump is slated to meet with Vice Premier Liu He Friday afternoon.

So, how should investors approach the trade talks and the possible volatility that could come if the meeting is canceled or another negative headline comes out and the Dow tanks?

Jeff Marks, senior portfolio analyst with Jim Cramer's Action Alerts PLUS portfolio, and Sam Hendel, president at Levin Easterly Partners, join TheStreet to discuss stock picks and whether or not there's opportunity amidst the volatility.

"I think investors can be opportunistic whenever there's a negative headline sending down the market because, ultimately, I know there's uncertainty around the future monetary policy, but I think the Fed still has our backs and we know that the Trump administration wants to see higher stock prices too.

So I think they have our back as well," said Marks.
