STORY: Canelo Alvarez will take on huge challenge Saturday night when he moves up two weight classes to challenge WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev.

Alvarez, the unified middleweight champion will move up 15 pounds to attempt to nail down a world title in his fourth weight class following a unanimous decision over Daniel Jacobs in May.

The 36-year-old Kovalev is coming off an August 24th win over Anthony Yarde in which he rallied late in the bout to hand the British boxer an 11th round TKO.

Alvarez and the streaming service DAZN have a a five-year, 11-fight deal that will pay the boxer at least $365 million.

The partnership has been described as the most lucrative athlete contract in history.

DAZN became the broadcast home of boxing in the United States after HBO announced in September that it's getting out of the fight business.

DAZN is owned by the U.K.-based Perform Group - it launched in Europe and Japan in August 2016 and moved into the U.S. market in 2018, making boxing one of its premium sports.
