British Prime Minister Boris Johnson says keeping preparations in place is 'the right thing to do'.

UK's Johnson says will keep no-deal Brexit preparations in place

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson issued a warning to US President Donald Trump ahead of his visit to London for a NATO summit next week.

Johnson made the comments during a radio interview on LBC.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) BRITISH PRIME MINISTER, BORIS JOHNSON, SAYING: "What we (the U.S. and the UK) don't do, traditionally, as loving allies and friends, what we don't do traditionally is get involved in each other's election campaigns." As the election campaign enters its final weeks, Johnson told a press conference he wanted to keep in place preparations the government has made for the possibility of a no-deal Brexit.

And he will press ahead with getting Brexit done -- if the Conservatives are successful on December 12.

(SOUND BITE) BRITISH PRIME MINISTER BORIS JOHNSON: ''Our first move will be to bring the Withdrawal Bill back before Christmas and we will leave the EU on the 31st of January.

No ifs, no buts, we'll get it done.

I have total confidence that we will do it because every single conservative candidate at this election has personally pledged to their perspective constituents that they will back my deal.'' The prime minister added he was confident that Britain would get a free-trade deal with the European Union by the end of 2020.
