Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission, addresses an audience at the London School of Economics, where she formerly studied.
She announces that the EU stands ready to negotiate a partnership with the UK that is "unprecedented in scope".
She said the relationship between the UK and the EU cannot be as close as it was.
However, she committed to designing as much of the new partnership in the time frame available.
