California Gov.
Gavin Newsom was pressured by three dozen environmental groups.
They wrote a letter to Newsom urging him to declare a sweeping climate emergency.
Additionally, they asked for new fossil fuel permits, a ban on fracking and a plan for a public utility company.
One person wrote: “Governor Newsom still has the opportunity to take courageous action before it’s too late.” Newsom already begun acting on many of these issues and vowed to act on many more.
