Erie, Wyoming, Chautauqua, and Cattaraugus Counties from 1am to 6pm Thursday and McKean County from 3am to 7pm Thursday.

Expect 4-7" of snow with strong winds making for difficult travel on Thursday.

Thursday brings gusty winds and snow as temperatures turn colder through the day leaving much of WNY covered in snow followed by some lake snow overnight into Friday.

Speaking of Friday, the week finishes with frigid air and partly cloudy skies as temperatures struggle to reach the 20 degree mark.

The weekend will usher in the next winter storm with snow arriving on Saturday followed by gusty winds up to 50mph, lake snow and bitter cold air on Sunday leading to an arctic outbreak which will cover WNY into the following week.

The combination of snow and winds will make travel difficult over the weekend.

Snow Accumulations By Friday morning, we can expect to see: 1-3 inches of snow in the metro area and the Northtowns.

4-7 inches of snow in the hills of the Southtowns and Wyoming County, as well as the Southern Tier.

THURSDAY Morning: 33 Afternoon: 29 Colder with gusty winds and blowing snow as temperatures fall from the 30s to the 20s.

FRIDAY Morning: 13 Afternoon: 19 Frigid with lake snow ending in the morning.

SATURDAY Morning: 25 Afternoon: 33 Gusty breeze with snow at varying intensities into the afternoon.

The evening will see a wintry mix of Rain, sleet & snow with strong winds gusting near 50mph into the overnight.

SUNDAY Morning: 25 Afternoon: 21 Windy & colder with lake snows crossing WNY.
