Insys Therapeutics founder John Kapoor was sentenced to 66 months in prison on Thursday.

Reuters reports Kapoor is being jailed for his role in an opioid fraud scheme.

The billionaire is among a group of five Insys executives who allegedly participated in the scheme.

It involved bribing doctors to prescribe Subsys, an under-the-tongue fentanyl spray approved in 2012 for cancer pain.

Kapoor was sentenced by a U.S.district judge in Boston on Thursday.
