BILLS GOVERNOR HOGAN VETOEDLAST YEAR.

NicKipke (R) House MinorityLeaderTrack: Thursday the legislaturereversed some bills thegovernor vetoed last year.Nats: Track: The house andsenate discussed 8 bills thatwere to override the governorsvetoes.

The legislatorssuccessfully reversed 5 of the8 bills the governor vetoed.They were: The state's DreamAct, now undocumentedimmigrants can get i━ staterates for college tuition.Updating laws effecting stateemployees grievances, allowingsome complaints to be taken tostate administrative judges.revamping the system foroyster harvesting regulations.Not allowing employers to askabout your criminal history onjob applications, called "Banthe Box" and Abolishing theHandgun Permit Review Board.The Handgun Permit ReviewBoard looks at rejectedhandgun permits.

Some thinkthe board has Hogan appointeeson it and they believe are toolenient when handing outhandgun permits.

Stateadministrative judges will nowhear appeals.

Decisionslike that shouldn't be made bypolitical appointees, theyshould be made byadministrative law judges.

Sothem abolishing this processthat's currently in place inthink had to do with a lot ofpolitics and not a lot ofsubstance.

Sot: (Kipke) 30,000people have gone through theexisting process and of those30,000 people that have thatright to carry there have beenzero violations, zero criminalinvestigations.

Track: Law makersfailed to override 3 of thegovernor vetoes, one dealswith the Howard Street Tunnelexpansion.

The tunnel will beexpanded to fit cars stackedon top of each other.

Thiswill help moving goods to andfrom the port.
