The SNP have sent a clear message to the EU from Portobello beach in Edinburgh.

Drawn in the sand, the artwork shows the two words Europe and Scotland joined by a heart.

It comes on the day Scotland will leave the EU with the whole of the UK at 2300hrs.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has insisted her bid to hold a second independence referendum in 2020 is “perfectly realistic”, as she predicted Brexit will lead to the break-up of the United Kingdom.
