PLANTE, LEGERE AND TRUNZO ON PODIUM SPRAYING CHAMPAGNE STORY: Reigning ice cross world champion Cameron Naasz of the USA won the first ATSX 1000 race of the season in Yokohama on Saturday (February 15).

In a closely contested final, the 30-year-old Naasz secured the victory over rival Kyle Croxall of Canada by the length of a blade.

Canadian Steven Cox rounded out the podium with a run that saw him challenge for the lead before fading towards the end.

Canada's Maxie Plante clinched her first career win by winning the women's final.

Plante took the early lead and fought off the challenge from her compatriot Jacqueline Legere to take the victory.

Amanda Trunzo of the USA, who claimed the overall title in 2019, finished third.

The next round of the ice cross world championship series will be the ATSX 500 in Le Massif de Charlevoix, Quebec on February 22.
