ESAPEKKA LAPPI (4) RACING STORY: Great Britain's Elfyn Evans has extended his overall lead after the opening stages of the second day of Rally Sweden (February 15) with a cumulative time of 58 minutes, 55.7 seconds.

He is 16.8 seconds ahead of reigning WRC champion Ott Tanak of Estonia in second, with Finland's Rovanpera 28 seconds behind the leader, in third.

Evans won the first three stages of the rally, which is taking place in Norway and Sweden, with Tanak coming second in the first two, and Rovanpera taking second place in the third stage.

France's Sebastian Ogier is fourth overall, 29.3 seconds behind Evans with Finland's Esapekka Lappi fifth overall, 35.1 seconds off the top spot.

There is another stage to run on Saturday.
