VARIOUS OF VEHICLE IN POLICE IMPOUND STORY: Russia said its traffic police had pulled over a man driving a life-like replica of the Batmobile through Moscow and impounded the vehicle for flouting the traffic code.

Officers stopped the vehicle in western Moscow on Feb.

22 and are pressing civil charges against the 32-year-old driver, the Moscow branch of the Interior Ministry said late on Tuesday.

The replica of the vehicle popularised in the Batman films had not been registered with authorities, had not been certified as roadworthy and was too wide for Moscow's roads, it said.

The Batmobile could be seen wrapped in tape and black plastic being towed away in footage released by the police.

The police statement did not identify the driver, but Russian media said the vehicle looked like a replica of the Batmobile from Batman v Superman that was put up for sale in Moscow at 55 million roubles ($840,000).
