Maryland Governor Larry Hogan on Thursday ordered all shopping malls and entertainment venues to close in the evening as more than 100 cases of the novel coronavirus have been reported in the state.

At a press conference on Thursday, Hogan said despite warnings, some people are treating this like a vacation or a spring break.

"If you are engaged in this type of activity, you are in violation of state law and you are endangering the lives of your fellow Marylanders," he said.

Hogan also directed the University of Maryland system to continue classes online for the remainder of the semester.
