British Artist Reveals Coronavirus Glass Sculpture

This is a glass sculpture showing the structure of coronavirus.

Measuring 23cm (9 inches) in diameter, it is 1 million times larger than the actual virus.

Created by internationally-renowned British artist Luke Jerram, the glass sculpture is a tribute to the huge global scientific and medical effort to combat the pandemic.

Made through a process of scientific glassblowing, the coronavirus model is based on the latest scientific understanding and diagrams of the virus.

Profits from the model are going to Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), who will be assisting developing countries deal with the fallout of the epidemic.
