Stunning northern lights brighten up Lapland's skies

Bright northern lights danced in the skies above Finnish Lapland on Friday night putting nature's best on display.

Spring is one of the best times to see the northern lights, also known as the aurora borealis, because of augmented solar wind activity taking place in the Arctic Circle at that time of year.

Footage of the auroras was captured by an enthusiast from Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland and known as the 'official' home of Santa Claus, who was out filming a music video.
