Wuhan, China Lifts Coronavirus Lockdown

According to Reuters, the Chinese city of Wuhan, has some hopeful news.

Wuhan is the city where the coronavirus outbreak first emerged in December 2019.

On Saturday, they began reopening the city—lifting a two-month lockdown since the start of the covid-19 outbreak.

Wuhan has started to reopen their boarders, restart some metro services, and are allowing families to reunite.

This signals a turning point in China’s fight against covid-19, although the contagion has since spread to over 200 countries.

Wuhan accounts for about 60% of China’s coronavirus cases, which has fallen sharply in recent weeks.

Zhang Yulun, a 35 year old who lives in Wuhan said, “I think the resumption of work represents a kind of hope.

It at least shows that China is victorious.”
