The boxes will be distributed at six different schools throughout Rochester.

Gordo new on daybreak new on daybreaká dozens of area organizations are coming together to help distribute food boxes for those in need.

And those boxes have 30 pounds worth of food in them.

Kimt news three's madelyne watkins joins us live this morning to tell us more about how to get one, if you need help.

Brooke and tyler.

I'm at riverside elementary in rochester and this is just one of 6 different locations where boxes will be handed out at today.

Channel one foodbank, rochester public schools, the city of rochester and a handful of other organzations are making this distribution possible.

The boxes have 30 pounds worth of food in them which will approximately serve a family of four for a week.

Rochester public schools normally give lunch meals out to students, but this week is spring break so they're hoping this can help replace that.

But these boxes are for anyone in the community in need of food... and they're free!

Karen lemke with the rochester public library tells me it's heartwarming there are so many giving organizations in the "it's been really neat to see the organizations come together on, not just the food, but in other areas in our community when there's a need.

People in rochester really step up and organizations really step up the food boxes will be handed out until they run out.

Live in rochester.

Thank you madelyne.
