Today the osaa has released a small glimpse of hope for high school sports this spring.

Right now, all spring practices and competitions are suspended until april 28th.

That is in line with the current school cloure ordered by governor brown.

Today the osaa announced that it will continue on that path, and will n cancel spring championships, as of right now.

The board did mention that if governor brown orders schools to close for the remainder of the year, the osaa will align with that, and cancel the remainder of the season.

But as of right now, the show goes on starting on the 28th.

There are still worries of venue issues.

Western oregon university has all facilities closed until june 30th, and cannot host the 3a, 2a, or 1a state track championships.

The osaa has approved some safety guidelines if sports do continue at the end of april.

For example, there will be an initial 7 day period with only practices and no competitions.

They will practice only once, and no more than three hours in a day.

There will be no more than 6 consecutive days with practice.

And there will continue to be heat warnings.

They will also emphasize late afternoon and weekend starts.

The ossa will reassess on april 15.
