2nd Huntsville Schools Teachers Tests Positive
Huntsville.
This morning, officials with huntsville city schools are urging parents to contact them if anyone in their family tests positive for the coronavirus.
This comes after a second teacher in the district tested positive for the virus.
Waay31s sierra phillips joins us live at the school district's main office where board members will meet tonight.
Sierra, when was the last day this teacher was around students?
According to a statement from the district, the teacher's last day at huntsville junior high school was more than 2 weeks ago, on march 16th.
We are now past the 14 day time frame when symptoms are likely to develop for anyone who came into contact with that teacher.
But, the release reminds parents to continue to practice social distancing.
It also added that families should self-monitor for symptoms ofcoronavirus like: fever, dry cough, body aches and shortness of breath.
If anyone tests positive, they are asked to email the district's nursing coordinator.
The special called meeting here tonight will not be open to the public to to limit exposure..
They are set to discuss their online learning plan that begins next week.
