Places of worship held in person services.

Today the governor announced those services can restart...but there are strict guidelines to follow.

Newschannel 2's cailtin irla breaks it down for us... and talks with religious leaders about the restart.

Worshipers are excited to get back to holding in house services... but when they reopen is not as important as how they reopen.

.

None .

None "to say that we can reopen is one reality, to do the necessary preparation to ensure everyone's saftey is another reality."

Some local churches are still taking their time with reopening plans, to make sure they do it safely.

"there's plans we have to make and ideas we have to have, are we going to take temperatures, are we going to have masks for people if they forget them."

Governor cuomo says at this point, there can only 10 people or less.

But for some churches, that isn't realistic.

"between our 2 parishes, we can see 1600 so 10 isn't even a drop in a bucket."

Standup -- "the governor has asked churches for drive-in or parking lot services... father selarno says that wont happen overnight" "we'll consider every possibility to serve as many people as we can but to transform our parking lot, many things need to be taken into consideration."

Pastor rigel agrees.

"its still impersonal, no in room connection so to me its just as effective to do it online the way we have been doing it."

And when both father salerno and pastor rifel can get people back inside... it will look different.

"people in the catholic community& masks observe social distancing&" "ive been thinking about this as god moving us forward& seeing the world differently."
