One council recently voted to allow voluntary on- campus athletic activity for some fall and winter sports... but with the coronavirus pandemic still looming -- what about schools like chico state who are in division two?

Brandon benitez joins us live in studio with what roadblocks the wildcats -- and other schools in their conference -- lie ahead... alan, chico state -- and 12 other schools governed by the c-c-a-a are still going to have to wait before we see sports come back at this moment in time... i met with c-c-a-a commissioner mitch cox earlier today.

We talked about the different guidelines other conferences are adopting to bring sports back... with c-c-a-a schools from san diego to arcata -- there's no clear path to guaranteeing the safety and health of players, coaches, and other athletic staff... since students aren't expected to be on campus in the fall -- student-athletes shouldn't be either... we understand the importance that athletics plays.

We all miss it terribly and it's been like that since march.

We're all out of our element right now.

We're used to doing athletics and we're not doing that right now but we have to be conscious of the reality and the relaity is that we're in the middle of a major health crisis and we have to be taking care of each other comissioner cox also told me that as more information pours in -- so will the c-c-a-a's flexibility to make adjustments to guidelines and protocols... thanks brandon, some sports may have an easier time adjusting to guidelines set by their governing conference... but commissioner mitch cox says the c-c-a-a is moving forward with a one for all and all for one approach...
