7 Ways to Safely Celebrate Memorial Day at Home

7 Ways to Safely Celebrate Memorial Day at Home As the United States continues to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s Memorial Day will look different than it has in previous years.

Typical activities such as large gatherings and barbecues will likely not happen as social distancing rules still remain in effect.

Here are seven ways for you and your family to safely celebrate Memorial Day at home.

1.

Get some chalk and take to your driveway or a nearby walkway to create some patriotic-themed art.

2.

Even though you can’t have your usual gathering, take the time to decorate your home with red, white and blue.

3.

Hang an American flag outside of your home as a public tribute to the men and women who died while serving.

4.

Give recognition to fallen veterans by donating to an organization that puts flowers on their graves.

5.

If you know someone who served or you want to make a general thank you statement, post a tribute to your social media accounts.

6.

Watch the yearly National Memorial Day Concert, which will be streaming at 8 p.m.

On PBS.

7.

Listen to service members, veterans and their families tell stories of their experiences through the Military Voices Initiative.
