Church in this building will feel a lot different.

That's because over the weekend governor walz made changes to how churches can operate.

Walz: "starting on may 27th places of worship may open at a 25 percent occupancy if they adhere to social distancing and other public health guidelines."

Amy sot: "we are so thankful."

Amy gustafson is a pastor down the street at highpoint church.

Today they did a drive through prayer service?

And are already preparing for next sunday.

Amy sot: "we are going to be ready for a 25 percent capacity starting next weekend.

So we are making plans to add an extra service we will do that in order be comply with be mandated with the 25 percent capacity.

So we will work with whatever is given and we are really excited about reopening."

These churches are tasked with following detailed safety guidelines.

This includes things like supplying hand sanitizer, making sure folks are practicing social distancing, and staff wearing masks and gloves.

Skipworth says they've been following the state guidelines closely and have a plan of action skipworth sot: "after the church service we will get in with lysol, clorox sanitizers, we will wipe down clean the restroom and we will be ready to go an hour and a half later.

So for us its just keeping with the guidelines and keeping people safe.

Keeping the amount of people down to the minimum and making sure that we are back in gods house worshiping and that people are safe in doing that."

Now they're seeing that technology is allowing them to reach communities outside of rochester... and it's giving people more options when it comes to worship.xxx "technology has broaden our impact.

Before the pandemic we were running about we were running about 1500 people every weekend now we are seeing that we are getting anywhere from 1500 to 2500 online views and we know that with every view there there is probably more than one person tuning in."

He adds that they've moved their broadcasting from one day to seven days a week... utilizing several different online platforms to get their message across.
