CONTAINS PROFANITY.

A video posted on social media on Tuesday showed a tense stand-off between authorities and protesters in Seattle as gas canisters and fire crackers were deployed into the crowd.

As the crowds disperse to escape the discharge of gas, many are heard shouting profanity at the police and asking them to not shoot.

Seattle is one of the many cities across United States witnessing days of protests as crowds continue to vent their rage over the death of 46-year-old George Floyd, a black man seen on video gasping for breath while a white police officer knelt on his neck while in custody in Minneapolis.

One protester in the video is seen kneeling referring both to how Floyd died and a long-standing protest against racism in America that started in 2016 with a football player taking a knee instead of standing during the National Anthem.

As more gas canisters are discharged, protesters respond by chanting, "we go home, you go home."
