Lexington activist devine carama says a huge lesson lewis taught is that you're never too young to make a difference.

Carama"even in that space even in that time at that age he still took it upon himself and said i'm gonna make a difference and i'm gonna lead."

Carama"he almost lost his life during the social unrest in alabama fighting for the freedoms that people like myself have today."

Brown"to not give up.

That the road is going to be hard and that it's going to take some sacrifice but the cause is good."

80-year-old teddi smith-robillard met lewis nearly a decade ago... talked with him about what they both faced during the civil rights movement.

Teddi/met him"anytime you get the chance to meet or talk with someone back from the day that had lived some of the stuff he lived it's really good but it makes me sad in a way.

Current guidelines expire august 2nd.

Every time tackett speaks, he is adamant fall sports will happen in the bluegrass, but they will look different.

House speaker nancy pelosi led a delegation to joint base andrews in maryland to greet lewis's flag-draped casket.

A motorcade carrying the body stopped at black lives matter plaza while on its way to the u.s. capitol.

Lewis is the first black lawmaker to lie in state in the u-s capitol rotunda, according to congressional historians.

Ots image:left john lewis remembered john lewis.jpg people in lexington are remembering john lewis and his legacy.

Here's abc 36's christy bollinger.

Uk historian nikki brown"he lived a very good and long life and i think that in many ways is perhaps the best revenge against the segregationists."

Congressman john lewis started his activism as a teenager... at 23 he was a keynote speaker at the historic 19-63 march on washington.

Carama"we are literally seeing kind of the end of an era of life of people who lived through that social unrest during the fifties and sixties."

Uk historian"in washington dc he said that the purpose of good trouble is to jar the system and the way we can make good trouble is vote and to encourage others to vote and that's how you change the system."

What does u-k historian nikki brown think lewis would have to say about the black lives matter movement?

Brown"to not give up.

That the road is going to be hard and that it's going to take some sacrifice but the cause is good."

80-year-old teddi smith-robillard met lewis nearly a decade ago... talked with him about what they both faced during the civil rights movement.

Teddi/met him"anytime you get the chance to meet or talk with someone back from the day that had lived some of the stuff he lived it's really good but it makes me sad in a way.

It was an honor to meet him it truly was an honor and i'll never forget it."

Some weird seeds are popping up in mailboxes around kentucky.... c1 3 agricultural officilas are warning people not to plant them.

L3: abc 36 news white seeds from china being sent to ky residents people being warned not to plant them kentucky is just one of several states where these seeds are being sent to people.

Agriculture commissioner ryan quarles says they don't know what type of seeds these are but appear to have originated from china.

He says this could be an act of agricultural bio- terrorism... and that the seeds could be harmful to local plants and livestock if planted.

He says anyone who gets the mail should immediately contact the kentucky department of agriculture.

It's a tradition for the kentucky state police.... hosting the torch run for the special olympics... but this year... the coronavirus is keeping them from doing it.

So they decided to switch gears and instead... hold a "cover the cruiser" compeition.

Troopers were out at different locations across the state today... accepting donations for the special olympics.

Anyone who donated got their name written on a sticker and placed on the cruiser.

There was a friendly competition between posts to see who could raise the most money.

State police will announce which post won later.

Commissioner julian tackett and the khsaa board of control will meet to decide what the next steps will be.

Current guidelines expire august 2nd.

Every time tackett speaks, he is adamant fall sports will happen in the bluegrass, but they will look different.

If they do happen, it's safe to say they will be delayed.

The high school football season was set to start three weeks from this friday on august 21st, but that is highly unlikely.

Abc 36 will have coverage the decision on tuesday.

We don't know if the nba combine will happen, but now we know which former cats nba general managers voted to possibly invite.

There a good chance the combine is done virtually.

Transylvania athletics and the heartland collegiate athletic conference decided postpone high contact risk sports.

Men's and women's soccer along with women's volleyball will play their season in the spring of 2021.

The low contact fall sports of golf, tennis, and cross country will still take place this fall.

Former cat bam adebayo has finally joined his miami heat teammates in the orlando nba bubble.

Adebayo returned at the end of last week after he had tested postiive for covid-19.

He has been cleared and believes he's ready to play, but he plans to ease into it, especially since the only real side effect he experienced from the virus wasn't serious at all.

Bam adebayo heat forward "boring.

That's pretty much all i can tell you.

That's how it was.

I was pretty much fien the whole time.

It's a crazy thing that one person could be asymptomatic and the next person you don't know what it could do to their body.

That's the bottom line, but i have to take it day at a time so i don't think i'm gonna play tomorrow.
