Thousands of migrants in Lesbos queue to enter new camp after devastating fire

Thousands of asylum seekers are in queues waiting to register and enter the new temporary refugee camp in Lesbos island in Greece after the fire that completely destroyed Moria refugee camp.

Refugees and migrants are waiting in line in order to be tested for COVID-19 after registering.

Those with the virus will be isolated in special zones.

The new camp is a fenced enclosed facility located in Kara Tepe or Mavrovouni, it was built in few days by the army and provides tents, water, toilets, showers, food distribution and medical care.

For now, more than 8,000 people are inside without the ability to go out of the camp for the next 14 days because of the coronavirus quarantine measures.
