Turnstone has partnered with Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation to resurface and enhance four basketball courts in McMillen Park, featuring a giant four-court mural installed by local artist Andre Portee.

Some fort wayne basketball courts got some enhancements thanks to a grant.turnstone teamed up with the fort wayne parks department and now the courts look better than ever.

Neighbors of mcmillen park now can enjoy newly renovated basketball courts.

Thanks to a fifty thousand dollar grant from the nba all-star legacy committee, turnstone, along with fort wayne parks and rec were able to turn the four courts ihe last time i was here the courts had cracks.

There were bullet holes in the backboard.

There were weeds growing and look at it now, i mean this is incredible.

Andre portee is responsible for what he calls the loose and flavorful design, inspired by what he says is a relatively black neighborhood.

Portee says he can remember a time playing on these courts when it so great.

Efore this, it was pretty much a loose gravel pit, you know?

You go to take off and you slip.

Just even have the courts sealed and repaired is very nice.

Expose more children to sports, but more people to those who are different than them because turnstone will be hosting adaptive sports programs at the court, allowing more people to experience different sports like wheelchair basketball, something rena shown with turnstone says will benefit peope henever you exposed to people who are different that you, you can actually learn a lot from that expe what we d that hope to do through our programming this summer.

Basketball courts are open through the rest of the fall, with the programming from turnstone set to start next year in fort wayne, caleb saylor, fox 55 news the grant received by the all-star legacy grant committee was one of 21 across the state, expected to impact an estimated 90-thousand
