'Old Soul'

There's a part of Scotland which is forever drawn to the colours and hues of Americana.

Perhaps it's the shared music roots that connect the two, or a thirst for vast, open spaces, but there's a certain intermingling of sonic DNA that allows for free-flowing cultural conversation.

Take *Colin Macleod*. An artist very much rooted in Scottish culture and heritage, his work has received no small degree of acclaim Stateside.

Indeed, his fantastic new single 'Old Soul' - the first to emerge from his incoming album - is testament to this, a kind of Hebridean take on Americana that boasts a guest spot from former touring partner Sheryl Crow.

Out now, it's a rich return, songwriting of real depth and character, a song that owes its roots to the tales Colin would hear from his grandfather about life on Lewis in the 40s and 50s.

A full video has been shot, with David Martin tasked with reinterpreting Colin Macleod's lyrical songwriting.

Opening with a picturesque view of Lewis, it allows timelines to blend, producing something that is timeless in the most palpable sense.

Colin Macleod comments...

“The video for 'Old Soul' is a window into another time, filmed in a place where time has almost stood still. 'Old Soul' isn’t about feeling old, its about being born out of time - I think that’s something a lot of people can relate to. Thanks to Dave, Jim and Iona for making this such a beautiful wee film.”

Tune in now.

Colin Macleod will release new album 'Hold Fast' on January 29th - pre-order *LINK.*
