The U.S. Senate on Tuesday voted to block, at least for now, Democrats' demand that White House documents be subpoenaed for use in President Donald Trump's impeachment trial.

Democrats march forward with Trump's impeachment
On Thursday U.S. Democrats focused on the first of the two charges against Trump in his impeachment trial in the Senate: abuse of power. In more than eight hours of argument, Democrats continued their case that Trump abused his office by pressing Ukraine to investigate the Bidens purely for political gain. Eve Johnson reports.
